The Gallus Masalamix is working with elderly day care centres in Glasgow. Inspired by the Commonwealth Games, we are reminiscing about past childhood games/street games with elders from different cultural groups, all based in Glasgow.
Each group will recreate their childhood games and a display to represent their memories. All coming together for a final event to play each other’s games. Participants can complete a Triathlon or a Pentathlon, depending on abilities. As with other Gallus Games, participants will come to the Acknowledgment Booth and receive their medal. We are also inviting primary school children to take part in the final event to learn about the Games of Childhood past.
The Day Care Centres taking part are:
Oran Street, Purdon Street, Shanti Bhavan, Melmilap, Forge Street, Muslim Day Care Centre, Hawthorn Day Care, Glenwood Day Care and Dixon Day Care.
